About

Know Your Body is The Eve Appeal’s ambitious new gynae health education programme aimed at reaching young people with the greatest barriers to accessing healthcare.

In the Sex Education Forum’s survey of over a 1,000 young people, just over 1 in 3 (35%) rated the quality of their school RSE as ‘good’ or ‘very good' and more than 1 one in 5  (22%) rated the quality of RSE as ‘bad’ or ‘very bad’.  The Know Your Body lesson plans aim to plug the gaps in RSE for young people: knowing what’s normal for you, spotting when things aren’t and knowing when to seek help.

Who are they for?

The Know Your Body lesson plans are designed to be used by teachers, who are often short on time and resources, and have been developed in collaboration with RSE facilitators, teachers, medical experts and youth workers.

Who are The Eve Appeal?

The Eve Appeal is the UK’s leading national charity funding research and raising awareness for the prevention and earlier diagnosis of the five gynaecological cancers – womb, ovarian, cervical, vulval and vaginal. It was set up to prevent gynae cancers and save lives by funding ground-breaking research focused on developing effective methods of risk prediction, earlier detection and developing screening for all of the gynae cancers.

The world-leading research that The Eve Appeal funds is ambitious but their vision is simple: A future where gynaecological cancers are diseases of the past.

Because cancer prevention starts with us knowing what’s normal for our bodies.
